Buyer entered the wrong shipping address after checkout
When a buyer sends a message to update an old address after completing a purchase, sellers are forced to either cancel and refund the order or risk shipping items to a location where the customer no longer lives. This leaves sellers without a clear automated fix, making them question whether they have to manually handle cancellations or risk lost inventory.
What people tried
Every workaround mentioned in the threads below. We haven’t tested any of them — and nobody here is claiming they worked.
- 1Cancel the order, issue a refund, and ask the buyer to update their address and reorder.
- 2Manually editing and changing each customer's default address through the customer profile in the admin panel.
