How to verify vendor AI claims
Vendors frequently use the buzzword "AI-ready" to disguise basic data deduplication scripts or make unverified claims that their built-in tools can replace dedicated services like Claude and ChatGPT. Because nobody explains these features in verifiable terms, buyers cannot determine if the software actually provides new value or can perform the same complex, time-saving tasks.

“ive sat through way too many demos where "AI-ready" means they slapped a deduplication script on top and called it revolutionary.”source ↗
“Every tool pitch these days claims it can make your data AI-ready, but nobody explains what that means in terms I can actually verify.”source ↗
“I’m probably the most AI skeptical person in my organization, and still recognize that Claude can do some absolutely amazing things for me that save me a lot of time. I am very skeptical of the claim that Egnyte’s AI service will be able to do all of these things.”source ↗
“The firm I work for is looking into upgrading to Egnyte’s Elite package, which includes AI services. The sales folks are telling us that we could ‘drop the licensing for your current AI services’ (like Claude, ChatGPT, etc.) because Egnyte’s AI services can do everything those can do. I am skeptical of this claim. Does anyone have any actual experience with this that can provide some insight?”source ↗
