Windows 11 black screen or missing taskbar after update

Recent operating system updates are causing Windows 11 to load with a black screen or a missing taskbar upon login. This prevents users from accessing their desktop normally and interacting with system controls.

What people tried

Every workaround mentioned in the threads below. We haven’t tested any of them — and nobody here is claiming they worked.

  1. 1
Applying Microsoft's proposed workaround via PowerShell
  2. 2
    Restarting or waking the computer
  3. 3
Stopping the App Readiness service manually
