Why are wedding invitations taking weeks or months to arrive in the mail?

Postal delivery times can be entirely unpredictable, with some letters arriving in a week while others take months or never show up at all. This slow and random trickle leaves guests uninformed and forces hosts to deal with missing replies and disrupted planning.

What people tried

Every workaround mentioned in the threads below. We haven’t tested any of them — and nobody here is claiming they worked.

  1. 1
Send an email to everyone with the wedding website just in case
  2. 2
Make phone calls to key people and have them check in with their circle
  3. 3
    Avoid using colored envelopes
  4. 4
    Move things yourself
  5. 5
Drive with basic stuff for a few days

Has anyone else been having issues with USPS and mail delays? I dropped my save-the-dates at the post office on Thursday, 9/3 -- two weeks ago -- and they are like, sloooooowly trickling out to people with no rhyme or reason.source ↗

We had the same issue and we mailed ours out in January. Some people got them a week after we sent them, some didn’t get them until March or April, and some never got them at all.source ↗
