Said It Here

Why doesn't my door open all the way?

A door closer or hatch fails to extend fully on its own, leaving the door ajar or stuck unless it is handled with very light pressure or pulled manually. This prevents the door from latching or opening smoothly during normal use.

What people tried

Every workaround mentioned in the threads below. We haven’t tested any of them — and nobody here is claiming they worked.

  1. 1
Pulling the arm manually to make the door close
  2. 2
Adjusting the sweep speed and latch screws on the closer body

I'm working on a 2024 Mitsubishi Mirage and the rear hatch only opens when you use very light pressure. If you open it too quick it doesn't budge.source ↗

Closer used to close the door all the way but recently the arm isn't going into a full 90 degrees leaving the door open.source ↗
