Why does my garage door go down halfway and pop back up?
Physical resistance on the mechanism causes the door to move slower and less smoothly than usual. Because of this, it only goes down a quarter or halfway before making a clicking sound and reversing. This prevents the door from shutting properly, forcing you to press the button multiple times until it eventually closes.
