How to make Shopify search look inside page body text
Shopify's native search engine only scans product and page titles rather than indexing keywords hidden within the body content. This limitation prevents customers from finding items based on detailed descriptions, forcing merchants to either accept poor search functionality or install overly complex, expensive third-party apps.
What people tried
Every workaround mentioned in the threads below. We haven’t tested any of them — and nobody here is claiming they worked.
- 1Using third-party search apps despite them feeling like overkill
- 2Tweaking the theme's search.liquid file manually
- 3Installing the free Shopify Search & Discovery app
