Dryer sparked during reassembly and won't turn on
An electrical short occurred while touching the back plate wiring with the metal panel, causing the dryer to fail to power on. This leaves the machine completely unresponsive and unable to select any settings, preventing use before guests arrive.
What people tried
Every workaround mentioned in the threads below. We haven’t tested any of them — and nobody here is claiming they worked.
- 1Checking the circuit breaker or GFCI
- 2Tracing the circuit path and testing with a multimeter
- 3unplugging the appliance for a few minutes
- 4checking the sensor and door switch
