Dryer sparked during reassembly and won't turn on

An electrical short occurred while touching the back plate wiring with the metal panel, causing the dryer to fail to power on. This leaves the machine completely unresponsive and unable to select any settings, preventing use before guests arrive.

What people tried

Every workaround mentioned in the threads below. We haven’t tested any of them — and nobody here is claiming they worked.

  1. 1
Checking the circuit breaker or GFCI
  2. 2
Tracing the circuit path and testing with a multimeter
  3. 3
unplugging the appliance for a few minutes
  4. 4
checking the sensor and door switch

I pressed “Sensor Dry”, and it beeped at me two or three times and keeps flashing the lights in rows.source ↗

I can’t select anything else, I’ve unplugged it for 5 mins and it’s done nothing, and they come back TODAY.source ↗

When I was putting the top back on, I accidentally touched the wiring for the back plate for buzzer with the thin metal panel that goes on the back of the control panel.it sparked, and then the dryer wouldn't come back on.source ↗

It's extremely frustrating, and now I have to fix it.source ↗
