Why is my steering stiff after a CV axle replacement?
Steering becomes stiff and triggers a 'Steering Assist is Reduced' warning immediately after an axle repair or alignment, usually because a wheel speed sensor was disturbed, a steering angle sensor needs recalibration, or electrical connections near the wheel hub were jarred loose. This prevents the electronic power steering from functioning correctly, leaving the vehicle difficult to steer.
