Why does platform single sign on keep breaking?
Platform single sign-on intermittently breaks after a few weeks or months, forcing devices to completely drop out of directory membership. This sudden failure blocks access and requires users to either wait weeks, manually wipe the machine, or completely rejoin the system from scratch.
What people tried
Every workaround mentioned in the threads below. We haven’t tested any of them — and nobody here is claiming they worked.
- 1Exempt affected devices from conditional access policies until they reconnect.
- 2Leave the device off for a couple of weeks to let it rejoin.
- 3Wipe and rejoin the device manually.
