How do local manufacturing businesses get customers online?

Local manufacturers struggle to attract nearby buyers because standard digital marketing tools and social media algorithms broadcast content nationwide instead of targeting local clients. Without a way to reach local customers, established businesses with quality products and good prices end up burning money and shrinking their workforce just to stay afloat.

What people tried

Every workaround mentioned in the threads below. We haven’t tested any of them — and nobody here is claiming they worked.

  1. 1
relying on word of mouth like local competitors do
  2. 2
closing physical storefront locations to reduce overhead
  3. 3
attempting to drive business through a website without paid advertisements
  4. 4
Using PPC ads targeted by geographic location

If the organic content I’m putting out is for my local audience, do the algorithms find/detect the difference in location?source ↗

I’d hate to start putting out content and having it all go to 49 states I don’t service.source ↗
