How to turn off review and charge in QuickBooks

Interface updates place un-disableable payment features directly into the invoicing screen, causing long-time users to accidentally trigger unintended ACH or E-Check transactions before clients even see the bill. Because software providers fail to include an option to disable the feature despite constant complaints, businesses face forced transactions and constant workflow disruptions.

What people tried

Every workaround mentioned in the threads below. We haven’t tested any of them — and nobody here is claiming they worked.

  1. 1
Logging into the separate Quickbooks Payments application to issue refunds
  2. 2
Switching to alternative accounting software like Freshbooks
  3. 3
Turning off stored payment methods manually

our office employees (some using Quickbooks since 2004) and they have accidentally clicked this new 'REVIEW AND CHARGE' feature that you have made on the invoices screen multiple times, sometimes forcing an ACH or E-Check payment that wasn't even intended.source ↗

Imagine just taking the money from the client when the client hasn’t even seen the bill yet!source ↗

They pushed this on me months ago. Still no function to turn off despite near daily feedback. It’s infuriating.source ↗
