Why is it so hard to configure enterprise software without internal time?

Complex business platforms stall out when internal teams lack dedicated time and get blocked by slow, poorly synchronized external consultants. This friction leaves software sitting half-configured for years while organizations continue paying monthly fees without realizing any value from the product.

What people tried

Every workaround mentioned in the threads below. We haven’t tested any of them — and nobody here is claiming they worked.

  1. 1
Using AI tools like ChatGPT and Claude via browser automation or APIs to handle the configuration steps
  2. 2
Hiring external consultants and integration partners
  3. 3
Leaving expensive software sitting unused for years while continuing to pay monthly fees
  4. 4
Picking away at small nagging configuration tasks independently over time
  5. 5
Manually uploading data to make sure frameworks make sense while integrations are pending
  6. 6
Considering building custom connections with Zapier

I’ve gotten frustrated with getting Halo configured properly and fully to work as I wanted it. This is due to my lack of time and also my lack of scheduling with the partner to have them help me. I’ve had it about 2yrs and done absolutely nothing with it except paid the monthly fee.source ↗

I just got asked to "do" CRM setup. I worked with the founder previously and they want me to come on to do something I honestly haven't done.source ↗

I have set up a customer support CRM in the past and sales CRM in salesforce, but I am just lost.source ↗

Would anyone lend me their time or advice on how to set this up?source ↗

coordinating with a consultant in a different time zone is more of a struggle than just figuring it out.source ↗
